AUSTIN, TEXAS – The Advanced Power Alliance (APA) today announced that Annie Minondo has joined the organization as Senior Advisor for Southwest Power Pool (SPP) Affairs. In this role, Minondo will lead APA’s advocacy efforts across the SPP region and build coalitions among stakeholders to support the responsible growth of advanced power resources including power generation and energy storage.
APA President and CEO Jeff Clark stated: “The Southwest Power Pool is one of the fastest-evolving energy markets in the country, and getting energy policy right there matters for the region and the nation. Annie has spent years building trust and driving consensus among a wide range of stakeholders, and that experience is exactly what our members rely on as we grow our industries’ presence and contributions there.”
Minondo is a skilled researcher, an eloquent writer, and a passionate speaker who has shown proven results through her participation in various SPP working groups. Before joining APA, she served at the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), where she brought together regional partners and renewable energy advocates to coordinate efforts and align messaging across a wide range of stakeholders. She was actively engaged in the development of the Consolidated Planning Process, demand response policy, and Order 1920 compliance, among other issues.
Minondo stated: “I’m beyond excited to join APA’s SPP team and contribute to its work in one of the country’s most important energy markets. APA has established itself as a leading voice in the SPP stakeholder process, and I look forward to building on that to help advance policies that enable advanced energy technologies to compete and scale as SPP’s energy needs grow.”
A native of Guatemala City, Minondo holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from Stanford University. She currently lives in Brooklyn, New York.
