Promoting America’s Advanced Power Industries in ERCOT and SPP
Welcome to America’s Energy Heartland, the Renewables Corridor, the center of the revolution occurring in energy.
Our region is rich in wind and solar energy, along with vast quantities of natural gas. We have a recent and rich history of robust energy development and we are positioned well to lead in energy production long into the future.
The Advanced Power Alliance is the industry trade association created to promote the development of these energy resources as clean, reliable, affordable, and infinite sources of power.
The Alliance is the advanced power industry’s voice within the fourteen states of the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) and Southwest Power Pool (SPP) systems: Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas and Wyoming.
Through our advocacy programs, we work to expand transmission capacity, to increase the use of renewable generation and energy storage within the region, and to facilitate export of this cleaner, cheaper power to customers around the country. We are leading efforts to defend tax and siting policies that treat renewables development equitably, and we are standing in opposition to those anti-renewable energy forces working to impede the growth of clean power within the region.
Advanced Power Alliance is engaging lawmakers and regulators to protect energy investments and expand market opportunities.
Collective strength through a collective voice. That’s the role of The Advanced Power Alliance’s advocacy programs. These are designed to allow participants to leverage their own regulatory and governmental affairs investments by providing assets in the key states where our members have interests.
Focused on issues that affect our members’ bottom lines, we work to deliver timely and actionable information from legislatures and regulatory agencies. We also aggressively lobby on the key issues affecting the future of our industry ensuring that the voice of the renewable energy industry is resoundingly heard within our region.
