AUSTIN – More than eight million Texans from twenty-eight cities and counties are celebrating National Clean Energy Week with proclamations attesting to the importance of clean energy investment in our cities’, states’, and nation’s future.

“This enthusiasm demonstrates that Texans value the many economic benefits of clean power projects and solidifies that there is no place for anti-renewable energy policies in this state,” said Judd Messer, Texas Vice President of Advanced Power Alliance. “Texans expect and deserve affordable and reliable energy, and a diverse energy mix – including low-cost renewable energy – leverages all available resources to enhance grid reliability and keep energy costs low for consumers.”

The proclamations, in part, tout new technologies contributing to a cleaner energy future along with the hundreds of thousands of jobs and strong economic growth the clean energy industry provides.

“The clean energy sector is a key driver of economic growth in Sweetwater, with scores of new jobs being added to the industry every year,” said Mayor of Sweetwater Jim McKenzie. “We must continue to advocate for low-cost renewable and reliable energy.”

National Clean Energy week began Monday, September 27 and ends Friday, September 29.
