The 2014 Texas Tribune Festival is a weekend of debate, discussion, and dialogue featuring some of the biggest names in the world of politics and public policy.
Over three days on the University of Texas at Austin campus, more than 200 speakers will dive into the state’s and nation’s most pressing issues: public and higher education, immigration, health care, transportation, energy, the environment, criminal justice and – new this year – government transparency.
The list of confirmed participants is the best yet and includes Governor Rick Perry; U.S. Senators Ted Cruz and John Cornyn; state Senators Wendy Davis, Leticia Van de Putte and Dan Patrick; Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst; former U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison; U.S. Representative Joaquin Castro; former U.S. Senator Bill Bradley; former U.S. Ambassador to China Jon Huntsman; former U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk; former U.S. Ambassador to Mexico Tony Garza; Texas Co-Chairman of Freedom to Marry Mark McKinnon; MSNBC’s Chris Hayes; Nominee for Land Commissioner, George P. Bush; and many more.
