AUSTIN, TEXAS – The Advanced Power Alliance (APA) today announced that Brooke Camet has joined the organization as Texas Director of Government Relations. In this role, Camet will support APA’s advocacy efforts at the Texas Legislature and engage with the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT), the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT), and other state agencies relevant to the power generation and energy storage industries.
“Texas isn’t just the largest energy market in the country; it’s the fastest growing and most dynamic,” said APA President & CEO Jeff Clark. “The decisions being made right now will shape the grid for decades to come. Our members are making long-term investments in this state, and they need an organization that shows up to represent them where it matters. Brooke knows this energy landscape inside and out. She’s exactly who we want in the room as part of our APA Texas team.”
“I am thrilled to welcome Brooke to the APA Texas team at this pivotal moment for both our organization and the Texas energy market,” said APA Vice President Judd Messer. “She brings a strong reputation, a deep understanding of the policy and political landscape, and a willingness to tackle challenging issues head-on. Brooke will play a central role in shaping our work in Texas, and I’m confident she’ll be a powerful advocate for our members who are continuing to invest in this state and fuel its extraordinary economic growth.”
Immediately prior to joining APA, Camet served as Deputy Director of Government Relations at the PUCT, where she represented the agency before a wide array of state agencies and the Legislature, advised leadership, and supported the implementation of key programs. Earlier in her career, Camet worked at the Texas Office of Public Utility Counsel — the state’s advocate for residential and small commercial ratepayers — as well as at the Austin office of Cornerstone Government Affairs and in the Texas House of Representatives.
“I’m delighted to join the Advanced Power Alliance and contribute to its mission of promoting affordable, reliable power through an all-of-the-above approach to energy development,” said Camet. “As Texas continues to grow, I look forward to working with APA members and policymakers to help meet the state’s energy needs.”
Camet is a native of League City, Texas. She earned her undergraduate degree in public relations and political science from Concordia University Texas, where she was a member of the volleyball team. She holds a master’s degree in public relations from Syracuse University.
