East Point Energy has announced that the Sunset Ridge Energy Center (Sunset Ridge) in Frio County, Texas is now operational.

Sunset Ridge is a 10-megawatt (MW) / 20 megawatt-hour (MWh) energy storage facility and marks East Point’s first operational project in Texas. This milestone represents a significant step forward in strengthening grid reliability in one of the nation’s fastest-growing energy markets.
“There’s a tremendous need for energy storage in Texas due to the fast-growing demand for energy. With Sunset Ridge fully operational, we look forward to working with the Pearsall community over the lifetime of the project,” says Andrew Foukal, CEO of East Point Energy.
From the earliest stages of development, East Point has worked closely with the Pearsall Fire Department, providing specialized training for first responders and collaborating with fire engineers to craft a comprehensive emergency response plan. Additionally, East Point Energy will continue to offer annual training for first responders, underscoring the company’s ongoing commitment to community safety.
