Arkansas is making strong strides in renewable energy development, building on its natural advantages, growing workforce, and emerging clean energy economy. With abundant land, strong solar resources, and a central position in the regional transmission network, Arkansas is increasingly attracting attention as a smart location for solar, storage, and advanced energy investment.
In the past decade, Arkansas has significantly increased its installed solar capacity, helping to diversify the state’s energy mix. Solar is keeping consumers’ dollars working in the state by increasing energy independence and reducing reliance on imported fuels. With large-scale solar farms, community solar programs, and new storage projects underway, Arkansas is poised to deliver more clean, low-cost electricity to homes, businesses, and industrial users across the state and region.
Through our advocacy programs, the Advanced Power Alliance is working to expand transmission infrastructure, promote fair and consistent siting and tax policies, and support the deployment of renewable energy and battery storage technologies throughout Arkansas. We are standing up against efforts to restrict clean energy access and working to ensure that communities and landowners benefit from the clean energy transition.
Arkansas has a proud history of resource development — from agriculture and timber to natural gas and hydroelectric — and today, clean energy is the next chapter. Rural communities across the state are seeing new investment, job creation, and long-term tax benefits from renewable projects. With the right policy support and continued leadership, Arkansas can build an energy economy that is as dependable and forward-looking as its people.
As part of an “all of the above” strategy, Arkansas is embracing solar and storage alongside existing generation resources to ensure long-term affordability and reliability. By leveraging its strengths — natural resources, a skilled workforce, and a strong grid foundation — Arkansas is delivering power that is Cleaner, Cheaper, and Made in Arkansas.
The future of energy is growing in the Natural State—and the opportunities are just beginning.
