Solar Farms Are Usually Built on Flat Land. Will They Create Runoff Issues?

Stormwater is regulated at the federal level under Section 402(p) of the Clean Water Act (CWA). Like all construction projects that will disturb more than one acre of land, solar projects must comply with all state and federal regulations, including getting construction permits and developing a stormwater pollution prevention plan.

Stormwater violations are subject to enforcement by the US Environmental Protection Agency and the appropriate state agencies.
